Okay, have you ever heard a more perfect premise for a book than the Queen investigating crime? It’s such a fun and wonderfully unique idea. The book is full of great cultural references, mixed with mystery and intrigue. When David Attenborough appeared in the first few pages, I knew I had to read on. The Queen is captured as a wise, loving and observant individual and I adored her relationship with Rozie. I would love to know how the Queen first found herself embroiled in solving crime and hope that this is addressed in later books in the series. It was clever how she led the investigation without giving away that she was searching for the answers herself.

Whilst the book has a cosy mystery feel, there is also intrigue and I was hooked from page one! Politics, murder, the Queen’s corgis – this is a brilliant start to a new series and I’m incredibly excited for book 2!
