Fun, witty reading, not to be taken at all seriously

Not being a particularly big fan of the institution of the Royal Family, I had approached this book with some trepidation. However, it's important to remember that it is in the end not meant to be deep reading. It is fun, funny, and cleverly written in terms of style and plot/character development. It reads like a humorous and witty detective novel, and as many other reviewers pointed out, while the worry may be that it's all just too much of a leap of faith, again, I think it's important to think of this as light, fun reading during a serious time and if thought in that way it does exactly that rather well. I expect this may tend to attract fans of the Queen, the Royals, and TV shows such as The Crown but even if you're not and you're just looking for something amusing, I'd recommend giving this a go. This will apparently be turned into a bit of a series of books in the future, I'm not sure I would go too far continuing down this road - in much the same way as I did with the Agatha Raisin series by M C Beaton, I think I would likely reach a satiation point after about 2 of these given how utterly unrelatable they are - but I had fun reading this nonetheless.
