This book is a breath of fresh air. It features all my favourites from the palace: Queenie, Kate and William and their lovely children amongst others. We see the assumed personal and family side to them as well as the fictional crime detective side to Queen Elizabeth.

It’s a royal murder mystery which brings a whole other playful side to the Queen. I read this book over a couple of days and found it to be a complete joy.

If you’re wanting serious historical fiction, this isn’t for you. It’s playful and completely made up but it’s written in a way that immediately gets you involved. It’s just a bit of fun really.

I enjoyed the ending as well and the copious references to gin along the way. The story is the complete package with no loose ends at the end.

It’s got a good plot and good characters. All in all, a nice and refreshing change by a new and clearly upcoming writer.

Good fun!
