The Windsor Knot is billed as Miss Marple meets The Crown, a description that is pretty much spot on! The premise is simple - a murder occurs under The Queen’s nose at her beloved Windsor Castle. The police are quick to start looking for an insider amongst the castle staff, but Her Majesty thinks differently and decides to secretly conduct her own investigation...The minute I heard about this book I was desperate to get my hands on it. I mean, The Queen turning detective - genius! As a huge fan of the Royal Family I was curious to see how various people had been portrayed, but they are all treated with the utmost respect. I especially loved the little scenes between Phillip and Elizabeth, still very much in love after all those years together. Of course the star of the show is Her Majesty herself, unassuming, underestimated, and more worldly than one would imagine. The Windsor Knot is fun, quirky and clever. I’m already looking forward to the next installment of Her Majesty’s investigations!
