The Queen as a detective? I’m intrigued
I thought this sounded an interesting and fun premise for a book.
A ‘dine and sleep’ at Windsor Castle, Russians, film stars, The Archbishop of Canterbury and Sir David Attenborough and of course a murder in Windsor Castle with the Queen as detective.
Initially it felt a bit slow in the opening chapter, the usual scene setting and suspect introduction.
The Queen is not quite how I would have her in my head, which is the trouble with writing famous people as everyone has their own impression. However by the end of the second chapter I’ve settled into her better. My favourite is Prince Philip, it’s a shame he is being packed off to Scotland for a week, presumably so the Queen can sleuth, as I’d quite like to see him as the sidekick.
I would definitely like to read on and see how it develops, it’s already funny and right up my street!
