The idea behind this book was great fun. Her majesty The Queen solves a murder inside Windsor Castle after a dine and sleep.
After one of the guests is discovered dead in his room, all guests and staff become suspects in this whodunnit. Was it the work of an overseas terror organisation or were the Russians involved? Was it an unfortunate accident or was it planned?
Although the police are investigating, The Queen and her assistant Rosie decide to do some detective work themselves in the hope they can point the police in the right direction and clear up what happened quickly.
In the background The Queen continues her everyday duties, seeing family, visiting events, planning state visits and alongside her she relies on her husband Prince Philip who appears with his usual wit and eccentricity. Mentions of other members of the family pop up through the book but are not central to it.
