A murder has taken place at the Royal Castle. Queen Elizabeth II was enjoying the annual holidays when the young pianist, Maxim Brodsky, found lifeless in his room after a stayover.
The authorities jump immediately into action. She, with her brilliant mind, is worried that they are chasing the wrong rabbit. It is time for the queen to enlist the new assistant secretary, Rozie Oshodi, into assisting her in the redirection. I found the conversations between Queen Elizabeth and husband Philip were such a brilliant vehicle for showing us her most authentic version of herself.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh out loud when I first read the blurb. The queen? Murder? Detective? It was something I did not expect to read or for someone to write. And it was not something I expected I would absolutely love.
The writing style was magnificent, it gave us an insight into the character mind.
Got me hooked on the first page.
S.J. took your cliche murder mystery and grabbed it by the neck and twisted it, making it unimaginably original and amusing by having your Queen Elizabeth II play Sherlock Holmes.
The twist was also something I loved to read.
