This book was an absolute pleasure to read from start to finish!

Firstly, I loved the writing style. It was descriptive, poetic and humorous without distracting from the plot. Oh, and what a plot! It was exciting and gripping and kept me on my toes. And I definitely was not expecting the outcome!

The main characters were just so loveable, most notably HRH The Queen. I really felt as though I was reading about someone who I could connect, perhaps a beloved Granny or Great Aunt. But I love the way the author portrayed her not just as a little old lady, or the head of state, but a witty, intelligent, empathetic and observant lady. The portrayal of the Queen made me feel warm and fuzzy inside, whilst feeling like I could sit down with her for a cuppa and a biscuit, have an intelligent and stimulating discussion with her and still rely on her to guide the country with a firm and steady hand, all whilst solving a murder!

Prince Philip regularly had me in stitches, and I would love a person like Sir Simon on my side! And Sir David Attenborough deserves an honorable mention. He is not a main character throughout the story, but I just love the fact that he is in there!

Rozie was a breath of fresh air - she is, in my opinion, a very well rounded character. You hear about how she clearly enjoys fashion and dressing the part for her job (skirts, heels, handbags), whilst at the same time she is a decorated war veteran trained in combat (as shown by an incident on the Tube). So refreshing!

Overall this is a book with two strong female leads, and an interesting and engaging plot. The book itself looks beautiful, and I was thrilled to discover that the author is writing another in the series. I cannot wait to read it!
