A turning point in British history
It's great to read a story at the starting point of modern Britain , where working class people and especially women stood up and said no to their employers and got changes put into law. This doesn't feel like a book simply riding the wave of the readmurgance of the popularity of feminism but one that has something important to say.
The cover let's it down. To me the cover, for some reason, made it look a lot older than when it was set and looks like it's aimed at a more 'high brow' audience. It doesn't inspire and puts me off.
