Much of the history of feminism that we get taught as children and students is from over 100 years ago and can often seem far removed and difficult to relate to. Veronica Moon is an endearing character through whose eyes we can learn about more recent struggles, those of our parents and grandparents.
I for one look forward to reading the rest of this book and improving my knowledge of the fight for gender equality.
The way in which the art of photography allows an artist the power to control the story their photograph tells is compared to the way in which women should, but were unable to, control their own life and story is fascinating and I'm intrigued to know how the theme progresses.
