I loved the way the book started with the exhibition card for a photograph in 2018 and a quote from Veronica before going back to 1968.
Veronica's father then summarises the Dagenham situation within the first page of the novel allowing the reader to place themselves back in the days before equality. Veronica's love of photography is also well detailed as the writer does not waste words but succinctly puts together a great picture (no pun intended!)
