What a wonderful story! I can't wait to read more of this.
This is set in 1968, at the time of the Ford strikes at Dagenham. A photographer for a local paper, Vee, decides to go to the strikes on her day off to take pictures of the striking women. She is confronted with Leonie, who introduces her to drinking pints, equal pay and lesbianism.
I found the writing completely engaging and the characters likeable. I'm not usually a fan of feminist writing but this was done so well, as to make me realise that whilst today we still have a way to go it was much worse in the 1960s.
