Veronica is a photographer for the local paper, at the time of the Dagenham strikes. She goes to see what is happening on her day off and meets Leonie, a journalist and a feminist. So begins a relationship that will change Veronica's life.
Veronica is caught between the world she grew up in and the new world emerging, where women want to be treated as equals but face a mountain of opposition. She is pulled into this new world, fighting alongside her new friends, that ultimately cuts short her career.
Years later, one of her photographs is used in an exhibition about feminism, and all the old memories rush back in, some painful, but she must once again step forward and fight for what she believes in.
