This book was certainly a book of two halves that gave me very mixed emotions, firstly I really disliked the character of Leonie I could not relate to her at all and if the authors aim was to encourage more people to care about the feminist movement I think it did the opposite. The character I related to was Erica and reading what women have done for the women of today made me feel grateful, grateful to be able to be a working mother with a well paid job who earns the same as her husband. The part of the book I agreed with wholeheartedly was that women are women’s biggest critics not men. The last part of the book changed my mind completely I’m so glad I finished it made me realise that there is still a good way to go before women are treated equally and the only way this will happen is if women support women. The book is beautifully written especially the final third and does what any good book should do leaving you feeling that you have learnt something.
