This is an excellent book written in the 50s and 60s. I wasn't sure this book was going to be for me - and I'm not sure that the cover does it justice!
However, once I got into it I really enjoyed the story. Having not lived through the women's movement and the early rise of feminism it's really fantastic and thought provoking to read such a relatable book written about that time. So fascinating to see how much was achieved over that time and how it impacts on us all now!
The character of Veronica is particularly brilliant and brave. I love that we also see Veronica in later life as well as in the timeframe of the book.
All round, a really worthwhile book that I would recommend to all women.
