I was expecting to love this book far more than I did, but I really didn't care about the characters. I found Veronica's relationship with Leonie extremely annoying, particularly how Veronica hung on to Leonie's every word.
I'm really interested in feminism and it's history but felt that it came across a bit too preachy. So this took the enjoyment away from the book.
The part that saved this book were Veronica in present day. She was much more likeable.
Overall this was a pretty good read but not my favourite book by Stephanie Butland.
