At first I was quite enthusiastic about this book. It seemed to have an interesting theme and a strong protagonist. I liked it but I didn't love it as it seemed a bit too forced in some parts.
It has a different take on history. And from a completely different perspective. Though it focuses more on the history of fictional character rather than the history itself. It definitely makes you realise how far humanity has come and how many things we (as women and society in general) take for granted today that were impossible not so long ago.
The concept itself seems a bit difficult to portray as it is about visual arts and the best way to experience them is visually. And I think the author has put a lot of work into that and done a very good job.
