I was really looking forward to reading this, given the subject matter and, overall, it did not disappoint.

I enjoyed the author's writing style and the way chapters moved through time, giving key information about important years and taking on different formats.

I found the character of Leonie frustrating, given her narrow view of what feminism should look like. However, now I've finished the book, I understand that this was perhaps the intention, to show how far the movement has come. Similarly, I found the lack of inter-sectional feminism in the first half difficult, but this was remedied somewhat in the second half (although I still think more could have been done).

Overall, I did enjoy the book and found it informative and interesting. I would thoroughly recommend it to those who know little about feminism as many key events are covered. Even though it is informative, it is not patronising and the story itself is still entertaining, making it a perfect summer holiday read.
