Upon reading the blurb of the book and based on the cover of the book I was unsure what to expect at first.
Upon reading the first look I thought the novel was very powerful by taking a naive young character who didn’t wish for more than marriage, kids and to lose her career be faced with rebellion and be thrown into the midst of a revolution for women.
The relationship between vee and Leonie is just beginning when we meet the characters but even this first meeting sparks something in Vee.
I would definitely read this book as the novel gives us the end and the beginning straight away with so many unanswered questions that it makes me want to read in for that purpose and to find out more about how the women fought to get what they wanted.
The writing style is very good and represents the time and the local area well. A very interesting read indeed!!
