First of all, I have to say I love the cover with its gorgeous bright colours but with a hint that it's not going to be all happy happy because of the shattering at the edges. Secondly, a warning that the descriptions of food in the opening chapters are probably going to make you rush to the fridge to see what you can find to eat. I really liked the playful use of food metaphors and could completely identify with Kate's difficulty with abandoning books and her amazement that others (such as Nick) can with seeming ease. Nick seems a troubled soul and I find myself wanting to know if their relationship persists and, if so, how.
