Had me with food, lost me with everything else
To be completely honest the first few pages of this succeeded in something, it made me ravenous for a burger!
I know it is suppose to give an opening insight to the characters and their personalities but seriously, I just wanted to eat the food, wonderfully described!
However I really struggled with this short first impression, mostly because I'm unsure how it relates to the blurb,it's all scene setting and melodramatic romance writing of a ending dysfunctional relationship between 2 adults, in a fairly bland way. I'm not convinced I've read anything of real substance beyond the description of a the cooking and the set up of their burgers, and I don't think I'm interested in reading anymore sadly.
