From the first paragraph I was rooting for Kate and Cecily, and actually Kate and Nick as well! I found the writing style very engaging and even in this extract there were moments where I actually laughed out loud. I enjoyed the continuous references to food and cooking, which is a motif I’d love to see more of, and both that and the use of colour to mirror the surroundings were really interesting. The book seems really interesting straight and away and i think it’s something to devour in one sitting.
