I don’t usually read chick lit and initially felt my normal resistance to this genre but I’m intrigued by this book. I like the inter generational storyline, love the food interwoven into it all and the characters seem complex which always hooks me in. I don’t understand and therefore really want to read more about the main characters and the point at which they are at (being vague to avoid spoilers).
It is written well, I enjoyed the rhyme and pace of her writing.
Also the main woman is portrayed as looking and acting like a typical person which I love as I can’t stomach books that uphold unhealthy stereotypes of behaviour or looks that most of us don’t (and don’t want to) live up to.
I’d be interesting in getting this even if I don’t win it.
