A heart-warming read
This is the first book under the name of Vicky Zimmerman and I thought it was a lovely read; perfect for a Sunday afternoon in the garden.
This is also a homage to the writer's love for her grandma and based on her book 'Thought for Food' - you can see real life pictures at the end of the book; this is a lovely close for the novel.
There're some wonderful moments, particularly with Cecily and her huge collection of books - there's really funny moments as our lead character Kate as she deals with life changes and the comedic ups and downs of a retirement home teaching cookery to its residents.
A lovely book that follows the path of a woman with insecurities and issues to a woman of substance and confidence through the support of the end of a life of a real character. Recommended.
