I’m still a little undecided on this book.
The cover is beautiful and really draws you in, also it’s based around cooking, something of which I love!

However, when i first picked this up I found the beginning to be quite slow and it took a while for the story to really get going, so initially I wasn’t sure if it was for me but I continued with it and it turned out to be a lovely read.

This is a story of Kate, who’s life has been turned upside down whilst on holiday with her commitment-phobe boyfriend Nick - expecting to move in together upon their return, he starts to panic and decides that maybe this isn’t a good idea after all - upon her return home she moves back in with her mum Rita. Now facing living with her mum and potentially redundancy at work, Kate takes on a volunteering job at Lauderdale Home for Exceptional Ladies retirement home and strikes up a friendship with 97 year old resident Cecily.

An uplifting and heartwarming read, I think I will revisit this book again in the future.
