I was looking forward to this and was glad I won it and it never disappointed.
Could not wait to start it and was annoyed that I couldn't read it in one go (children and husband in the way) The characters come across real but maybe a little stereotypical,e.g. Cecily portrayed as a grumpy 93 year old even though Cecily was the best character and I really enjoyed her life stories. At times it did seem to be a lot about food. To me the best bit of the book was the delightful photographs at the back of the book and was brilliant to be able to put faces to the people. I would definitely recommend this book and it would be ideal for a nice sunny afternoon in the garden or to take as a holiday read.
