This book was very enjoyable and comforting to read. It was really lovely to find out in the notes and acknowledgements at the back of the book that Cecily Finn one of the main characters is inspired by the authors grandmother, who is also called Cecily Finn. The pictures of the authors grandmother was a really great touch to the book and it made the book very personal and inspiring. I loved the scenes between Kate and Cecily, Cecily is a very wise and witty character and she shares her own life story with Kate. Cecily makes Kate question her own life plan and gets her to explore different things in life and to stop waiting around for Nick to change his mind and to find her own worth. I loved seeing the growing friendship between Kate and Cecily, it felt really relevant to me and very heart-warming. Their friendship is what drew me into the book and their passion for food. The book was an endearing story of friendship, good food, inspiration, love and life advice.
