I'm a little undecided on this book.
The cover is bright and vibrant, really drawing you in making you want to read the book.
The book is very slow to start off with and I wasn't sure whether to perservere with it or not. I did, but for me I'm still undecided on it, although the latter part of the book was much better than the beginning.
The story is about a woman, Kate, relatively young and in a mid-life crisis so to speak. She has had a lot of ups and downs in her life. Kate starts work in a retirement home and strikes up an unconventional yet heartwarming friendship with Cecily, a 97 year old woman.
Cecily is rather outspoken, she tells Kate what she thinks. She tries to guide her on her life through the use of a cookbook she used herself. Kate realises most of what's happened in her life could be her own doing.
