This novel is the perfect, delightful summer read: the story of an unlikely friendship between two very different women, heart-break and new chances, food and love.
The dynamics between the two main characters, Kate and Cecily were perfect, I really enjoyed their conversations, especially Cecily’s sharp remarks at the beginning and the story of her life. They both were brilliant, lovely characters, though sometimes I got frustrated by Kate’s naivety (but that was obviously the author’s purpose) and that didn’t stop me from cheering for her to find happiness. And it was refreshing to read a novel about a woman in her late thirties trying to sort out her life for a change.

PS, a modern version of Thought for Food: A Cookery Book for Entertaining Occasions would be a great idea and an instant bestseller ;)
