What a wonderful, beautiful book. The story of Kate he life, trials and tribulations is great, her unexpected, unusual and deep friendship with Cecily is both wonderful and heart warming. In odd ways they both need one an other. But in very different ways.
Cecily comes across as this real miserable old lady but deep inside she has a heart of pure gold.
Kate’s unlucky love life or lack of it is so frustrating and one point I only up to Chapter 3 and I was ready to shake Nick- he’s like a drip)
When Kate thinks everything is hopeless along comes Cecily at just the right time and gives her a particular cookery book from her vast collection of books.
This books offers so much. A must read.
