I read this book with my friend's little girl (and then gifted her the book). She loved the pictures and followed the story with interest. From an adult's perspective, the illustrations were beautiful and the story kept me interested to. Having the power to be yourself is so important and instilling that in the next generation is so important. I fully believe that books are a great way to do that. I love the lyrical way of writing. It felt more like singing a song than reading the story. I would argue that this is the perfect bed-time read for children. I could also see the uses it would have in the classroom from a PSHE (or social, emotional development) perspective in order to encourage children's self-esteem and perseverance. Each picture/paragraph opens itself up for discussion and application to real-life. I would recommend this book to any parent.
