I was thrilled to win a copy of The World at Your Feet. It arrived this morning and I read it to my daughter at bedtime this evening. The illustrations are beautiful and complement the text really well. It is colourful with plenty of lovely details to catch the eye whilst reading along. The language throughout is well chosen and is ideal to read to younger children but not too tricky for early readers to read themselves. The messages are simple and thoughtful and I think it will give us some things to talk about over the next few days (bedtime always seems to be the time for conversations about life and random things). This would be an ideal story to buy for a gift and I think would be particularly nice for new parents a special book to read with their little ones. It reminded me a bit of some Oliver Jeffers books so would recommend for fans of his work.
