I enjoyed reading this book with my little boy, but don't really feel that it was particularly poignant or memorable for us I'm afraid.

With modern society being much more aware of mental health and the need to recognise the struggles children may face in every day life, the books on offer today covering such themes are vast. Because of this and the fact that there are so many really successful ones aimed at age 2-8 makes it hard for others to stand out. This for me didn't particularly stand out as being one I'd look to read again.

The illustrations were eyecatching and the story was pleasant. There were lots of visual things to talk about on the page as well as it promoting discussion about why some characters may behave the way they did (a good tool for teaching tolerance and understanding of diversity).

Overall, I'd say a nice read, but didn't grab me enough to recommend to others.
