The World at your Feet is a gorgeous book to spend time looking at, as well as reading.
As a picture book aimed at young children, there's obviously not much text to read. However, sharing this with a youngster would be a lovely treat for both young and old alike.
There's some lovely messages in here about being yourself, trying your best and the importance of memories. As such, it doesn't really read as a story - but rather a series of rhyming thoughts which you could either read in one go, or take a couple at a time and chat about them and what they mean.
The images of landscapes and animals are stunning and would give countless ideas for prompting discussion about what is being said. That's one great thing about picture books done well, the images can really add to the text and deepen the meaning.
