This book is excellent. It was bought with children in mind, but the rhymes are really entertaining and the illustrations are out of this world! Definitely a great read for youngsters, also footy fans of all ages (especially those with fond memories of the World Cup over the years).This is great fun! A series of rhyming verse retellings of some of football's greatest goals. The illustrations are superb and really add to the feel of the book. A great gift for football fans!Love this book. Kids love the stories and we end up watching the videos of the goals the next day!!provides a comforting and somewhat stoic template to contend with life’s trials and tribulations. The book provides a much needed introduction, or indeed reminder, of basic, but often overlooked principles which can help an individual navigate through tough life events. The illustrations are bright and interesting and help to take the reader on a journey through life.
It was refreshing to read a children’s book which contained greater depth and meaning in the prose. However, I am unsure how much of this meaning would be understood and or retained by the intended audience and the book may contain concepts that a slightly older reading group would be able to understand and appreciate.
