Thanks to Readers First for providing me with an advance readers copy of this book. Overall I was very impressed with this children’s book. The topic is relevant and uplifting, the illustrations are beautiful and I think the book itself will prove to be very empowering for young readers. I love the style of all of the pictures as well – the animals are all really cute and the colours are very pleasing and calming. I think I actually enjoyed looking at Clara Anganuzzi’s illustrations more than reading the actual written text. I think in some areas the rhythm of the words was slightly out and it made it harder to keep my toddler’s attention because it didn’t sound like a song. It was also split across more than one page on occassions which makes it harder to keep the flow going when reading aloud. Overall, a very attractive little book and my little boy will enjoy having it on his bookshelves.
