This is a really sweet story full of positive messages for children. The words are reflected in the illustrations in such a subtle yet meaningful way and the illustrations themselves are colourful and provide a good visual representation of the message being conveyed.
With sentiments such as "it's OK if something doesn't work out" or "it's OK to just not know" the book offers much reassurance and kindness without being sickly sweet or idealistic. It would also be a good starting point for discussions around these sentiments with young children and an opportunity to talk about our emotions and struggles using the story as a basis to give them language around these topics.
This would be a perfect, gentle book for bedtime to unwind to but I can also see it being a useful one for a school or nursery classroom to open a discussion around self-esteem and self-belief.
