"The World at your Feet" by Karl Newson is a lovely book for children. The cover is absolutely gorgeous, and my toddler grandson and I both thought that the colourful illustrations by Clara Anganuzzi were amazing. The large font is nice and clear, and is mainly printed on a pale background making it easy to read at bedtime in subdued lighting, which is a bonus too.
The rhyming message is conveyed very well indeed : it's OK to get things wrong at times and not succeed in everything you do. Do your best, create memories and don't worry if things don't always go to plan. Just be you.
The child's journey with lots of colourful animals is delightfully illustrated, with plenty to talk about on each page. It's only a short book, and quickly read, but plenty of time was spent talking about the illustrations and the message conveyed.
This is the first book I have read by this author, and will definitely search for more.
