I enlisted the help of my nine year old son to give a fair review of this book from its target audience.

He likes the colourful, comic-like layout and style.
There’s a good range of things he’s interested in - Burgers, balloons, football, hubbble wraps, skateboards, potato chips. There’s also modern inventions like drones and the bullet train.

Now, as an adult reader and a parent I have my own opinions.

It’s delivered in a style that means ks2 kids could self-read or ks1 children could read along as a group or with the teacher. There’s a wide range of things discussed that aren’t all western (or Americanised) so there’s some world perspective too which is important for children to explore a world beyond their own immediate environment.

This book would sit happily in any primary school classroom or anywhere you find curios children.
