I've read quite a lot of books set in the Blitz on English cities in WW2, where young women found themselves heroines, showing bravery they didn't know they possessed. I really hadn't thought about the young girls in Northern Ireland, possibly more innocent of worldly ways, this book would be an education, (albeit a fictional one) for me.
