The synopsis of this book really intrigued me, so I was excited to get into it and it did not disappoint. This was quite an emotional tale, and it was interesting to read about all these different characters and their reactions. I could really imagine their feelings.
I enjoyed the writing style of this book, for me the third person narrative was a good fit. We got to read an unbiased narrative, that was not clouded by a single narrators feelings. I enjoyed reading about each character and their lives, and how they grew as people in the short time we have with them. It did take a little while for me to grow accustomed to the no speech marks, but the writing flowed once I was. I found to be quite an easy book to follow.
The cover is perfect for the book, I felt that it really matched the contents of the book. Despite the pain and destruction throughout the book, I felt that the ending was quite hopeful for the family.
