I really think this is a book that stays with me after reading, I loved that it shared what it meant to love and to loose in a time of great distress. After getting used to the writing style which at first can seem tricky, I soon found the words to flow and to almost be poetic. The story shares the bond between siblings, the bond between mothers and children and the ones that we love. Emma and Audrey's stories where both so interesting and real, Emma loved a woman she couldn't have and Audrey felt lost in the supposed love of her partner. I really loved the added stories of people around them and the disaster that everyone felt during this time. The author really didn't shy away from the brutal tales of not only lives that where lost but how the buildings of Belfast we're destroyed too. I thought the ending would have had a little more to it but overall a great book.
