Belfast is not a city that comes to mind when I think of WW2 and the Blitz, so this book was educational as well as a good read and it was written so well and evocatively that I'll remember it for a long time to come.

One small thing that I found hard to get used to at first was the writing style, which is quite different to your usual fiction prose, although after a while I got past this and started to really enjoy the story.

'These Days' really brings to life how emotions are heightened during times of great trouble, and how much more love and loss can affect you. Emma and Audrey were brought to life fantastically and I loved getting to know them and their stories. But it's not just about them, there are further characters in their lives which helps to bring to life jsut how widespread the disaster was.

Overall a great story and one that I would recommend to everyone.
