I was intrigued by this book but it seemed different from the usual wartime story. I didn't realise that Belfast had been targeted so fiercely by air attacks. However, I have one or two criticisms. I didn't like the fact that there were no quotation marks for the speech sentences and I think it would more interesting for local people from Belfast t because there was so much reference to street names a lot of the time which didn't mean much to me. However, I did like the characters in the family story, particularly the two sisters who were so different to each other but each had their own problems to deal with. Paul was an interesting character and I liked the storyline where Audrey rescued the little girl and took her home. I realise that the action covered only four days but there was certainly a lot of action in that time. I would think a sequel would be enjoyable to find out what became of the family.
