I am racking my brain as to what to say about this one.
It is set in Belfast during World War Two and at the time of the three worse bombing raids.
It is centred around two sisters although obviously there are others.
Audrey is engaged to Richard and planning their wedding, she hopes she will get permission to work once she is married, can't imagine having to give up just because you marry.
Audrey has a lot of doubts though over whether she is doing the right thing and if she really does love Richard. The planning is all going ahead but it seems to be happening around her and she is just getting swept all by it all.
Emma is the other sister, she works at a first aid post but her father who like Richard are both doctors doesn't seem to take her too seriously.
Emma works with Sylvia and they start a relationship, think this could have been explored a lot more given that the time the book was set this would have been frowned upon.
One thing I really didn't like is that there are no speech marks. I found it made it quite difficult to read.
