I really enjoyed this book. It’s from an author that I have never read before but I really appreciated the writing style. The book flowed really well and for me there were no dips in pace or content. The cover is great, very eye catching and it would definitely lead me to pick it from the shelf for a closer look.
I enjoy a well done historical fiction book although it’s a genre I don’t read particularly often.
In this book we are transported to Belfast 1941, right in the heart of World War 2, Belfast had escaped the worst of the war but we join just before the worst few weeks and months. We follow sisters Emma and Audrey through the four terrible nights of the Belfast Blitz. Suffice to say their lives are dramatically changed and will never be the same again.
This was a gripping and heartbreakingly beautiful read that I’d definitely recommend.
