I read this book in a day and enjoyed the stories of the two main characters Audrey and Emma and how they progressed and brought this awful story together.
A lot of research has been done to describe the horrors of war and the devastation that mass bombing does in such great and understanding detail.
There is love of all kinds in the story and the author captures each one in a sensitive manner.
Many of us have seen the footage of the blitz in the second world war in London-and perhaps like others I did not know about the horrors in Belfast-but to read about the way people dealt with it is inspiring.
Today we acknowledge what the wonderful people of the NHS are doing BUT to read about all the volunteers and the horrors they had to deal with is terrible-descriptions of conditions etc. are horrifying but necessary to the story.
I think this book is well written and is a good read!!!
