I enjoyed this and want to read more
The writing was fast-paced and well-written and immediately engaged the reader with the characters.
The 'main' character is Bilal, whose mother on her death bed commands he build a mosque in the leafy English village. He is not religious and feels burdened by the request.
He is an integral part of village life and we are introduced to a few of the villagers. Bilal's heath is not great (either real or imaginary) and there is clearly something going on with his wife Miriam.
I can't wait to read more the see what these things are and to see how the village would react to the deathbed request.
