Bilal's mother has died, and asked him, on her deathbed, to build a mosque in his pleasant English village. It's an interesting idea, and it could be fun to read on and find out how this plays out. The characters of Bilal and his wife are initially quite likeable, but I did feel that the other characters and the village were essentially caricatures. I wouldn't mind reading the rest, but I'm not blown away by this first impression.
