Initially the cover of this book threw me off, I wouldn’t be immediately drawn to it but as I read the premise I found it intriguing. Perhaps this unexpected cover is the perfect indication of the story and the message, what does it really mean to be British? The old fashioned cover representing old fashioned ideas of being British.

As I started to read, even just the prologue, I was drawn in by the integrity of the characters and the reality of a traditional British village with a difference, the idea of a mosque deepening culture in rural Britain. I am intrigued by the morals of this book, the challenge that Bilal faces and the complexities of a changing world. I can’t wait to read further!
